When a text watermark makes sense
A visible label tells readers a file is confidential, a draft, or under copyright before they get to the contents. Stamping the same text across every page covers your document even when someone jumps to the middle or sends just a few pages onward.
A watermark is a visual marking, not redaction: it doesn't stop text from being copied or selected. If you need to permanently remove content rather than overlay a label, redaction is the right tool.
Setting the stamp
PDF Watermark reads the page count the moment you open a file and gives you three controls: font size (12–120 pt), opacity (1–100%) and angle (−90° to 90°). The text is centered on every page and auto-shrinks to stay within the page width.
Watermarks use a fixed bold Helvetica in dark grey, so the output is predictable. The font covers Latin letters, numbers and common punctuation up to 80 characters; emoji and non-Latin scripts can't be encoded and will be flagged rather than silently mangled.
Stamping and downloading
