Where blank pages come from

Double-sided scans land with a stray empty sheet. Exports from design tools and emails leave trailing blank pages. Merging files can sprinkle extras in the middle. By hand, checking a long document page by page is tedious — an automatic scan that flags empties for you is much faster.

How blank detection works

Remove Blank Pages renders each page in your browser and measures its ink coverage. Pages with fewer than a fraction of a percent of dark pixels, and no extractable text, get a blank badge and are preselected for deletion.

It's a heuristic, not OCR: a page that's truly empty is caught easily, but light watermarks or a single tiny page number can influence the result. That's why nothing is ever removed without your click — you review the badges and toggle any page on or off before deleting.

Running a clean in one pass

Open the PDF, skim the flagged thumbnails, adjust the selection if needed, then hit Delete. The tool rebuilds the file from the pages you kept and downloads it instantly — the pages that remain keep their content, links and layout.

Because the output is a rebuilt file, document-level bookmarks and metadata may not carry over, so keep the original if you might need it. Files up to 100 MB and 200 pages are supported; larger documents can be split with PDF Split first.
