What this resizer does

JPG output fills transparent areas with white, while PNG and WebP preserve transparency, so they suit logos and graphics. Shrinking keeps perceived quality high because pixels are simply removed; enlarging has to interpolate new pixels, so the result looks softer. Like any canvas re-encode, the output does not preserve EXIF, GPS or other metadata.
1. Choose an image
Click the upload area or drop a file (up to 50 MB) into the tool. The original width and height are shown as soon as the image loads, along with its file size.
Files that can't be decoded show a clear error instead of silently failing — dismiss it and try another image. You can load a new file at any time by using the upload area again.
2. Set the target size
The width and height inputs clamp to the 1–8,192 px range, so extreme values can never reach the canvas. The aspect-ratio lock is on by default and keeps the two sides in proportion automatically; turn it off for free-form dimensions.
The preset chips — 256×256, 640×360, 1080×1080, 1280×720 and 1920×1080 — set exact sizes for common social posts and screens with one click.
3. Pick the output format and resize
PNG is the default output and suits graphics, while JPEG flattens transparency onto a white background and WebP often produces the smallest result for photos.
The resize runs locally in your browser and is almost instant for normal sizes, with a live status message while the image is being re-encoded. Target sizes are capped at about 40 megapixels to stay inside safe canvas limits.
4. Download and verify
The resized image appears in the preview with its new dimensions and file size, so you can check the result before saving it.
Click Download to save the file as resized- plus your original name. Use Reset to start over with the same image, or drop a new file to begin again.
