About this tool
Add page numbers (plain or “n / total”) to every page with position, size and start number controls.
Add Page Numbers to PDF inserts a label into every page of your document, so multi-page files stay easy to navigate whether they're used as an internal draft, submitted, or printed. Choose a corner (bottom center is the default), a font size between 8 and 24 points, whether to show a plain number or an “n / total” count, and an optional starting offset — the document's first page can read as 5 instead of 1, for example, without skipping any pages.
Labels are drawn as fixed dark-grey Helvetica in the edges of every page, and placement adjusts for each page's orientation, so portrait and landscape pages in the same document stay aligned and readable. Everything runs locally in your browser: nothing is uploaded, and files up to 100 MB with up to 200 pages are supported. There is no preview, so download and review the numbered file to confirm placement before distributing it.
