About this tool
Convert between px and rem for a configurable base font size, with a reference table of common values.
The PX ↔ REM Converter turns pixel values into rem units and rem values back into pixels against a root font-size you control. Move the base slider anywhere from 8px to 24px — 16px, the usual browser default, is where it starts — and both directions update as you type.
REM is the root-relative CSS unit: 1rem is whatever the page's root font-size is, so rem-based layouts follow the reader's own font-size preference. That is why design systems hand off in pixels and ship in rem. Paste a pixel value to read its rem equivalent, or a rem value to read pixels; each result has its own copy button.
A reference table lists the conversion for 20 common pixel values at the current base, with a live Preview column that renders each size at its real pixel height, so you can check a whole spacing scale at once. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
