About this tool
Removes every annotation from a PDF — comments, highlights, stamps, links and form fields — while leaving the page content, text, images and layout untouched.
Remove Annotations cleans the markup layer off a PDF while keeping the document content exactly as it is. PDFs accumulate comments, highlights, underlines, stamps, sticky notes and hyperlinks during review cycles — clutter that is not appropriate for the final version shared with a client, printed, or archived. In a PDF, all of that lives in a separate annotation layer, and so do the form fields. This tool removes that layer in one pass, producing a clean copy whose page text, images and layout are untouched.
The tool reports the total it found plus a per-page breakdown before you confirm, so you know exactly what is about to be stripped, and it flags the cases that surprise people: a hyperlink is an annotation, so it goes too, and a filled form field usually keeps its value inside the field rather than on the page. If you only want the review markup gone and the fields still fillable, tick the keep-form-fields box and only the comments, highlights, stamps and links are removed. It is not a redaction tool — page content is left alone, so anything you need to hide is PDF Redact's job — and a digitally signed file comes out no longer signed. Everything runs in your browser, so a marked-up document and the notes inside it never leave your device.

- 1
Open PDF
Choose the marked-up PDF you want to clean up, up to 100 MB and 200 pages.
- 2
Review the counts
The tool shows the total it found, a per-page breakdown, and how many of each kind: markup, links, stamps and form fields.
- 3
Keep the form fields if you need them

- 5
Download the clean PDF
